don't know if anyones interested but on the fwc website theyre sayin theres gonna be dog and still hunts on aucilla ,blackwater, and some other wma this weekend and just about one weekend a month until deer season.Check the site for solid info if your interested.

Just saw this post. I know it's a little old but was just wondering if anyone has gone to the aucilla wma hog dog hunts this summer? It's about 20 mls west of my hunting club in north fl. We hunted it for a couple huntin seasons about 10 or 11 yrs ago. The place was slap ate up with hogs back then. Just wondering abt now if anyone's been.

This place sucked. We rode dam near the whole place no sign of any pigs. Most of the woods are extremely thick. Full of water. Seen 1 truck all night and they were frog giggin. I would have thought since it was open to hog doggin it would have been full of jerry Campbels. Seen plenty of deer.

That's what I heard yesterday from my friend Jeff that lives in Perry. When we hunted it back 10 yrs ago or so it was actually closed to hog hunting with dogs and always had been. That's why it was covered in hogs back then. Never saw any wardens back then so we just dog hunted it any way. But Jeff said about 6 yrs ago they opened it up to hog dogs during deer season and started the summer hunts and the place was flooded with hog hunters. Guess they just wiped the hogs out. I know what you mean about the thick woods though lol. We used to hate it when the hounds bayed up. Loved shooting them crossing the road but it was a nightmare when they bayed and we had to go in and get them. Even worse dragging them out lol.
