I got miné yesterday And took it for a test tonight and like it. Did not lose signal in some thick stuff at .75 mile. The dc40 some times goes in and out. I know it does not take long to connect with your unit. The bark feature i have not played with yet. It comes with two antenias both are long. Will try the comparsion this weekend with dc 30 and 40 collars

The more i use it the more i like it. Tested the 30, 40 &50. In a pretty open test lost the 40 at about 1.2 miles. The 30 went about 1.8 the 50 was 2.1. This is with the Garmin sitting on my dash. I then used terrys Garmin a 220 and programmed a30 collar to the same id # as the 50. Set them about 15 yards a part and took both handheld s and lost the 30 collar at about 80 yards and still had signal with the 50. Then i put the collars about 1 yard apart and the 220 could not pick up the 30 collar but i picked up the 50 . Conclusion, if you hunt basically by yourself it doesn't matter but if you hunt with other people or public hunts, it is nice. not saying it won't loose signal but it is an improvement.
