Got off of work at midnight and decided to make one last hog hunt before archery starts tomorrow morning, loaded up Tusk, Tarbaby and Pearl and headed to the woods. Get in the gate and my Pearl dog started whining in the box, she has been doing this the past couple of hunts but I thought she was just excited about being in the woods and getting to hunt. Had no clue that she was winding. Decided to see if she actually was and cut her out by herself. She went in about 150 yards and she struck a hog and bayed up. I am absolutely amazed with her only being 14 months old. She again exceeded my expectations of what she would be capable of doing!!! Sent the Tusk and Tarbaby to her but the hog broke before they got to her. I ended up cutting them off 1.3 miles from where she stuck him at. She is a pretty gritty dog so I can only imagine it was a pretty decent hog that she couldn't keep him stopped. Did a little walk hunting after that and struck three more small ones. More numbers off the contract so I was pleased no matter how small they were. Loaded up and started heading out about 0500 hrs. On the way out Pearl started whining again so this time I cut all the dogs out and they went in about 200 yards into some thick brush and caught. We walk in and hear only a dog fight! Never a good sound! We can barley see 5 ft in front of us the entire way in. finally make it to the dogs and the hog and it turned out to be a decent 182 lb boar hog with about 2" of teeth. The dogs got cut pretty good. They got plenty of time to heal though for the next 5 months of deer season.

I finally got out last night myself after a couple months of nothing. Dogs struck and ran but never stopped crap. Fat and out of shape like me I guess. it was hot as all get out. Better than staying at home I guess, but not like your night. Sounds like a good time Junior. Are you sure you can wait 5 months? Your dogs are going to be pissed at you. lol.

Ya I may run them once a month or so but these hounds are screaming and ready to go and they have been layed up since last deer season so it's their time
