Too many permits for the acreage in my opinion. good set up other wise, 3 men/3dogs per permit. But you have 2,000 acre properties with 6 permits and 10,000 acre properties with 41 permits. That's A LOT of dogs for the acreage. I did a hunt for the first time last year and I worked really hard to find a place with no dogs with in 100 yards of anyplace I stopped and never really did. I was like 13th or 15th in line too. Not like I was late. The areas I did not see any trucks or dogs in was not long before I had other dogs with mine. I know people that caught some nice hogs but that was only the first morning and they were some of the first ones on the ground. After noon or so they had the same issues. Just my opinion on 1 experience. Try it Cowboy, Maybe you will have a good time. I am still thinking if it is worth the money over all to me.

I have to agree with magnum. GSW used to be a favorite of ours for yrs and yrs. but the last couple yrs it's kinda been a hassle. People have no problem dumpin there dogs right on top of yours. Not very good "hunter ethics" on these public hunts. Not trying to discourage anyone from participating, just giving my take on it. It's great of swmd to open there land for us to hunt. And it is places to go for guys that don't have other options. The Alston Tract is covered up with hogs if any of you guys put in for there. It borders the phosphate property that we hunt.

Ryan I was at Green swamp Hampton unit. I am still thinking about putting in again. I keep talking myself out of it when I think too hard and looked at the permit numbers. I have until the 7th to decide.

Ryan we will have to get together. We have hunted Halpatta the past couple of years and have a ball. Everyone meets up for lunch, there is always a couple of grills and lots of food and plenty of stories. To me its what a hunt should be for the most part, there is a couple of guys that did the dog dumping on Bays but that is everywhere you go.
