Caught this Hog in Polk county with my son and friends. The hog was found and caught by one dog, Never barked and the hog never squeeled or made a noise. Got to the hog and it was so big we thought it was a Boar hog and it was a sow. 3 man roll. this was her after being penned up a month and losing weight. She ate good.

Thanks. Austins dog ( Middle guy) My son on the left and me on the right, found it and caught it alone. Same property as the one with Punk, Ryan and Pete. Lot's of Listed hog's. It is funny when one sow we caught had babies they had stripes like Russian pigs. Pictured on other thread.

One main reason is stress factor , ever been to jail ? Yer takin out of yer free roaming area after bein tied up (handcuffed) and thrown in a pin (cell) losse weight pretty quickly untill after sittin awile u get used to it and start to put yer weight back on . I always worm hogs I catch if I'm gonna fattin um up for bbq or something also safe guard equine 3 days in a row they fatten up real good

Trust me after many many years of live catching and penning i have seen it all. Usually the bigger the hog the worse they do. I have 2 in the pen right now and they are slowly gaining weight, but they both are under 200lbs. 1 under 100lbs. I have even caught big hogs in the past that did not make the ride home that were not really stressed or run hard. My pigs get fed really well so i know it is stress. You are totally right. I was surprised how much she lost in only one month.
